ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  • Candidate should be a graduate in any faculty of any University in Maharashtra established by an act of Parliament or by a State Legislature or an equivalent National Institution recognized as a Deemed to be University or Foreign University recognized as equivalent to the status of an Indian University by an authority competent to declare equivalence, With Minimum 45% of Marks in aggregate (That is 45 % marks for all the parts of the Degree Examination taken together) in qualifying examination in case of the candidates belongings to OPEN Category, ALL INDIA CANDIDATURE (OMS), EWS & SEBC candidates from the state of Maharashtra, (Candidate belonging to SC and ST Category need only 40% marks and VJNT, SBC and OBC, Category with minimum 42% marks in the qualifying examination.)
  • An applicant who has passed the U.G degree of minimum Three Years and P.G degree of 2/3 Yrs. duration from University mentioned in (a) after processing the studies in the pattern of 10+2+3+2/3 with regular studies at secondary and higher secondary schooling.

Post Graduate diploma will not be considered as Post Graduate Degree. Provided that, the applicants who have obtained +2 Higher Secondary Pass Certificate or First Degree Certificate by distance or correspondence method shall also be considered as eligible for CET of the 3 Years Law Courses. [The applicant who has passed the qualifying examination (10+2, U.G. & P.G.) in a single sitting examination without having basic qualifications of (10+2+3) is not eligible.] +2 is the Basic Qualification for LL.B.-3 Yrs. Course. Further provided that, NO candidate from the Open University having a degree contrary to the U.G.C. Act and Regulations and contrary to Rules of Legal Education shall be eligible. Further provided that, the candidates who are appearing/ appeared for the qualifying examination UG or PG (regular examination of that Academic Year) are also eligible to apply for the Entrance Examination. Such candidates become eligible for admission only if they produce the provisional/Degree certificate of the qualifying examination and the mark lists of all parts of qualifying examination at the time of CAP Application form filling

  • An applicant who has successfully completed Senior Secondary School course (+2) or equivalent (such as 11+1, A level in Senior Secondary School Leaving Certificate course) from a recognized Board/University in India or outside or from Secondary Board or equivalent, constituted or recognized by the Union or by a State Government or from any equivalent institution from a Foreign Country recognized by the Government of that Country for the purpose of issue of qualifying certificate on successful completion of the course Examination, with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate for Open, SEBC and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Category candidates and Out Side Maharashtra State Candidature Candidates (OMS) i.e. All India Candidates, (candidate belonging to SC and ST Category from the State of Maharashtra with minimum 40% Aggregate Marks and VJNT, SBC, OBC, Category belonging to State of Maharashtra with Minimum 42% Aggregate marks);
  • The applicants who have obtained +2 Higher Secondary Pass certificate or First Degree Certificate after processing studies in Distance or Correspondence Method is eligible for Admission to the course; Provided that, the applicants who have obtained 10+2 through Open (University) system directly without having any Basic Qualification (Standard X) are not eligible for LL. B-5 Yrs. CET. Further provided that, applicants who have obtained 10th Std./Secondary Schooling Certificate Examination, in a Single Sitting Examination without having basic qualification (1st to 9th Standard of Schooling) is not Eligible for Admission. Further provided that, the candidates who are appearing/appeared for the qualifying examination (regular examination of that Academic Year) are also eligible to apply for the Entrance Examination. Such candidate will be eligible for admission only if they produce the provisional/ Degree/ certificate of the qualifying examination and the mark lists of all parts/attempts the of qualifying examination at the time of admission.

  • Admission of the students shall be made in accordance with the merits at the LL.M. Entrance Examination and marks secured at LL.B. Degree.
  • Candidates seeking LL.M. Admission are required to appear for the entrance conducted by University of Mumbai. The minimum qualification for a candidate of general category applying for admission to the LL.M. Course is a LL.B. degree of University of Mumbai or a degree recognized as equivalent thereto. However, candidates belonging to reserved category may apply for LL.M. Course with a pass class.
  • Students who have passed LL.B. Degree from other than Mumbai University are required to obtain Provisional Statement of Eligibility Certificate from Eligibility Section, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Bhavan, Santazcruz (E), Vidyanagari, Mumbai-400098. Such candidates are required to pay fee for document verification as prescribed by Mumbai University from time to time for confirmation of validity of their certificates of their previous University and confirmation of eligibility to their LL.M.

  • Graduate from any faculty from a UGC recognized University
